Connecting Central Tokyo and the Miura Peninsula

Keikyu operates one main line and four branch lines across central Tokyo and Kanagawa Prefecture.

Except for the Daishi Line, most services run through from the Main Line onto the branch lines.

Keikyu originated as the Daishi Electric Railway, opened in 1898—the first electric railway in the Kanto region. After several mergers and renaming, it became the Keikyu network known today.

The line uses a wider rail gauge of 1,435 mm, allowing for fast and stable operation. Trains can reach a top speed of 120 km/h and often feature a motorized cab car at the front—another characteristic of Keikyu.
